BIGGER, BETTER AND BRIGHTER: THE “QCP INITIATIVE” GROWS INTO ITS SECOND YEAR

Following the success of the inaugural “QCP Competition Initiative”, held last year, this ambitious new component of the Titan-VNS Auto Logistics Co. Ltd. (“Titan-VNS”) training programmes has smoothly transitioned into 2019 – and ‘Season 2’ has seen both continuity and exciting new features as well as big steps up in every area.

The programme for this year’s “QCP Competition Initiative” kicked off on 8 February and relentlessly worked up to the first of two presentations scheduled for this year – “Round 4” (after Rounds 1-3 took place in 2018).

The “QCP (which stands for ‘Quality, Cost, Productivity’) Competition Initiative 2019” has a core focus as follows: “Participants from all levels in the activity for continual improvement and to add effectiveness of the quality management system (ISO9001:2015) through three areas, increases in quality, cost reduction and increase in productivity”.

Round 4 (and the first of 2019) was held for the first time at our brand-new Head Office in Sri Racha and a long afternoon of project presentations was got underway following an opening speech by Titan-VNS Managing Director Mr. Peera Thaweechart who outlined the scope of this year’s format, the challenges and the high expectation of the management.

Seven projects were presented and crunched through by an esteemed judging panel before the winners of Round 4 were announced during an evening awards ceremony.

The Judging Panel comprised of Mr. Peera Thaweechart (Managing Director), Mr. Chaiwat Sukmaitree (Operations Director), Mr. Boonma Khwanphuek (General Manager), Mr. Chaithanan Sirisathienyos (IT Director), Mr. Boonsong Som-ard (Key Account Manager), Mr. Premchai Boontam (Senior Manager), Mr. Kriangsak Thanasiranon (Key Account Manager) and Mr. Boonthavee Piampinsate (HR & GA Director).

The seven teams were mentored to Round 4 by Ms. Anong Nacom and Mr. Chanwaet Nikompuk who have overseen the teams’ progress since the “QCP Competition Initiative 2019” programme started more than a year.

Ms. Nacom and Mr. Nikompuk have visited each participating plant since April to help, advise and guide the teams taking part, providing useful input and support in every area. They then planned and moderated 4th Round showdown at Titan-VNS Head Office.

Their hard work and relentless dedication to the project has helped to ensure it’s been a great success – certainly exceeding our expectations – and the enthusiasm and good example they have set has really rubbed off on all the participants.

Round 4 was well worth a long afternoon spent at Head Office as each project was well thought out in every area, each team had dug deep to raise their game further into this year and the esteemed judging panel pushed, probed, encouraged and provided invaluable feedback to each team’s project through the Q&A session at the conclusion of each presentation. Clearly the judges were highly impressed by the standard of each project.

Now the participating teams move on towards the fifth round of the “QCP Competition Initiative 2019”, which will be held at the end of the year.

The “QCP Competition Initiative 2019” is being realised in conjunction with Albatross Logistics Co. Ltd., also a member of the new Logistics Alliance.
