TITAN-VNS JOINS HANDS IN NEW “LOGISTICS ALLIANCE”

Titan-VNS Auto Logistics Co. Ltd. (“Titan-VNS”) is very pleased to announce that we’re entering into a new strategic alliance with supply chain services provider Albatross Logistics Co. Ltd. (“Albatross”) with the aim of improving and strengthening our service.

Like Titan-VNS, Albatross is an ambitious leading-edge supply chain services provider that has both overlapping and specific individual strengths. That means this new ‘Alliance’ will benefit the competitiveness and execution of service of both companies going forward.

Titan-VNS and Albatross will operate under the umbrella of the new “Logistics Alliance”.

This is the first structural alliance in the Thai logistics operator sector.

Titan-VNS is a fully focused automotive logistics provider offering an encompassing portfolio of integrated supply chain solutions, encompassing transportation, warehouse management, sequencing, distribution, information technology and dedicated services – our solutions encompass every segment of the chain. We are a sector leader.

The new “Logistics Alliance” will focus on further positively improving service to customers through leveraging the strengths of the two companies, both individually and together.

The companies have enjoyed informal supporting arrangements for several years now and this initiative takes that platform to a logical next step. Alliances within business sectors have become a proven method to extract significant improvements and new savings – it’s entirely logical that we now enter a formal alliance with Albatross, a company that shares very similar philosophies and operational practices, so we will optimise and integrate best practice industry standards.

The alliance will have its foundation in a brand-new joint Head Office, comprising of 2,100 sq. m. of office space spread over 3 floors, for maximum efficiency. Titan-VNS will merge targeted back office functions with Albatross to improve efficiency and unlock cost savings.

We will work closely with Albatross to extract new standards of flexibility in every available operational area. Both companies have extensive warehouse capacity across a large geographical footprint, operate diverse transport fleets and are underpinned by highly trained and skilled workforces.

The strength in numbers when put together paints the picture and amounts to nearly 2,000 staff, over 350 trucks, 11 geographical locations totalling 50,000 sq. m., 26 bespoke IT systems managed for clients, 28 global clients and an operation that collects and manages inventory from than 230 supplier companies.

We will be able to call on each other’s resources where required allowing us both to be able to meet customers’ requirements in a more rapid and seamless manner as we each access a “bigger pool” ready to deploy to fast changing requirements.

We will integrate specific departments including Human Resources (which will be able to transfer specialist staff to meet evolving requirements), Administration, Accounting and Purchasing. All these departments will benefit from cost savings, in particular shared purchasing power will unlock value.

Two new co-managed departments will be formed through the Alliance, a state-of-the-art training facility with industry leading programmes and a Labour Relationships Department. The latter will adhere to our “Every Voice Heard” philosophy and will also look to optimise the interconnection between all layers of management and staff. Benefits we are looking to achieve from this initiative include the ability to identify potential staff to fast track, closing up any gaps in the HR structure, exchanging ideas and making people feel they belong.

With both companies relatively young (Titan-VNS was formed in 2012 and Albatross in 2009) but both well-known individually across the national supply chain industry this new Alliance we believe will improve our strength and offer additional trust and confidence to our clients.

The Logistics Alliance was officially launched during a special event held at the Cholchan Pattaya Beach Resort.

Mr. Bordin Tanthaphaiboon (President, Titan-VNS): “We’re very pleased to launch the first comprehensive Logistics Alliance in Thailand which we firmly believe is going to be a win-win for both companies as well as being of absolute benefit to our customers going forward. The increased strengths that we will be able to extract from working closely together and sharing resources – such as staff, warehousing, IT and many back-office functions – will make us immediately much more competitive and offer both companies greater scope and depth. We expect to make significant cost savings which will in turn further enhance our competitiveness and the bigger footprint will allow us to think bigger. I’m very proud of the management and staff of this company who have worked tirelessly to get us to where we are today and who have seen this opportunity as an opportunity to further raise our game. Albatross Logistics bring a lot of strengths to the table that will benefit the ambitious growth strategy we have for Titan-VNS.”

Mr. Peera Thaweechart (Managing Director, Titan-VNS): “The new Logistics Alliance is a very big opportunity for Titan-VNS to make strides forward and we are looking forward to unlocking new potential across many areas. We have worked closely with Albatross Logistics for a number of years now, the two companies operate in a similar sector, have many complementary strengths and we have complete trust in each other’s ability to deliver, so to move forward into a more formal alliance will allow us to approach the future with new strengths and a greater competitiveness. We have seen that strategic alliances between major global OEMs have brought benefits for each party, for example the long-standing Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance is very well documented and here in Thailand there are alliances such as Mazda and Ford or General Motors and Isuzu. More automotive alliances are growing worldwide, an example is the recent Ford-VW pact and another is Mercedes and BMW working together on mobility. The landscape is changing very rapidly with electric vehicles, mobility and driverless cars all set to make huge impact in the coming years and change the face of the industry at every level and we believe that strategic alliances in the supply chain sector are overdue and will bring improvement to logistics operations as the future evolves beyond recognition, so we’re very pleased to focus and push ahead in this strategy. I’m completely confident that this alliance will bring us a lot of benefits and our team are excited to work closely with Albatross going forward.”
